Qi, Chinese 氣 qì, also chi, ki; literally inter alia “mist, puff, breath”, always has to do with something atmospherical, easy evaporating: qi is a core concept of the ancient Chinese world view; it means the life force in everything that exists.

Qi is omnipresent and is distributed by the wind and held by water. Inside the body qi flows in meridians coming into play in acupuncture. There are a lot of disciplines working with this subtle energy, e. g. acupuncture, qigong, shiatsu, taiji quan or feng shui.
