Esoterism definition: deduced from Greek Esoterikos, “internal, belonging to the internal circle”: means vaguely secret science. This term summarizes today numerous thinking and explanation of world models not clearly assignable in the Western world.
Therefore here are categorized schools of thought dealing with superstition and magic as well as conspiracy theories, belief in aliens and the like. Also Chinese metaphysics is often assigned to esoterism without knowing much about it.
According to Wikipedia it represents comprisingly “a broad array of different ideologies […] emphasising the spiritual development of the individual, but not represented by an organized religion […] as a form of belief (Wikipedia, “esoterism”).
Esoterism postulates the existence of phenomenons beyond the knowable which cannot be proved by scientific methods to explain the world.
