Geomancy, from ancient Greek geo, “earth” and mantie, “prophecy”, is a prophecy method probably hailing from North Africa; arrived in Europe during the 12th century via Latin translations; orcacle since the Renaissance.

Nowadays it is an esoteric empirical science with holistic orientation. According to the geomancy the earth is covered by a grid system (Curry grid, ley lines, Hartmann grid or Benker lines) impacting the living space with their energies.

Aim of the geomancy is the detection of good locations in rooms and landscapes enabling a harmonic and healthy living. Occasionally, feng shui is called “Chinese geomancy”. But this term is misleading, because feng shui is based on a complete different method apparatus.
